Meshacket Commons Groundbreaking

On November 14th, the development team, alongside local community members, lenders, investors, and key supporters, came together to celebrate the groundbreaking of Meshacket Commons in Edgartown. This transformative 40-unit affordable housing project will provide much-needed housing for the community, with 36 rental units and 4 units designated for homeownership. The event kicked off with a heartfelt speech from Philippe Jordi, CEO of Island Housing Trust, our co-developer and co-owner, followed by remarks from David Ennis. Mark Hess, Edgartown’s Affordable Housing Committee Chair, also spoke, along with representatives from our lending and investment partners.

It was a truly special day, bringing together the many individuals and organizations who have worked tirelessly to bring this project to life—from architects and engineers to legal experts, local advocates, and financial supporters. Meshacket Commons represents a significant step forward in addressing the island’s affordable housing needs, and we’re excited to see the positive impact it will have on Edgartown and beyond.
